Graphite electrode for steelmaking
Graphite electrodes are one of the most important components used in industrial processes, including steelmaking and metal smelting. These electrodes are suitable for applications requiring high temperatures due to their very high thermal resistance and excellent electrical conductivity. The price of graphite electrodes is affected by factors such as the electrode material (including RP, HP, and UHP), size, and quality of construction.
Calcined petroleum coke (CPC)
Petroleum coke is a by-product of crude oil refining, which is mainly composed of carbon and contains a large amount of sulfur and heavy metals such as nickel and vanadium. Calcined petroleum coke is obtained by performing calcination operations on raw coke.
Carbogen Calcined Anthracite (CAC)
Calcined anthracite coal (CAC) is a high-quality carbon additive obtained from anthracite coal. It has a high carbon content, low volatile matter, and low ash content, making it an ideal carbon producer for a variety of industrial applications.
Graphite Petroleum Coke (GPC)
It is a refined form of petroleum coke that has undergone a high-temperature graphitization process (around 3000°C). In this process, the amorphous structures of carbon atoms are transformed into the crystalline structure of graphite. This change in the carbon structure from an amorphous to a crystalline state, along with the removal of sulfur and other impurities, significantly improves electrical and thermal conductivity.
Graphite electrode paste
Electrode paste is a conductive and malleable material used in the production of self-baking electrodes for Soderberg furnaces and electric arc furnaces to produce various ferroalloys such as ferrosilicon, ferrosilicomanganese, ferromanganese and ferrochrome. The main role of this paste is to transfer electric current from the power source to the materials inside the furnace; so that during the operation of the furnace, the paste gradually cooks and turns into a solid electrode with high conductivity. The composition and properties of the electrode paste are adjusted depending on the type of final product, the type of furnace and its capacity to achieve the best electrical and thermal performance.
